Panini Court Kings A Slam Dunk

The new Panini 09/10 Court Kings and its guaranteed hits are a slam dunk! reports Russ Cohen of Card Corner Club
It comes in a slim box, there’s a box topper, and the cards have that painted feel, what more can you ask for? Well let’s see what happens when I peruse this $135 a box product. The cellophane pack had 11 cards in it. It says you are “guaranteed to get 4 auto or memorabilia cards” and that’s what I like, guaranteed hits!
My first solid card was a rookie auto of Kings guard Tyreke Evans. The painted rookie is sharp and the card is numbered to 649. Well I was off and running and happy that I got a card of this budding star who averaged just over 20 points per game last season. It’s fun for me to collect players that I’ve run into at the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot ever year!
My box topper was a stellar shot of Denver’s Carmello Anthony. The 5x7 card is numbered top 349 and it’s very sharp and it was one of the best toppers. I would have liked a Bob McAdoo, Pete Maravich or Patrick Ewing, but hey, I was happy.
I did get a low-numbered (149) dual memorabilia card of Grizzlies center Marc Gasol. He averaged over 14 points in his second season so maybe he will follow in his brother Pau’s footsteps? Good pull.
I got a nice looking, well done, Jason Richardson “Masterpieces” memorabilia card numbered to 299. Front and back it’s one of the nicest cards I’ve seen all year.

The Dwight Howard “Portraits” insert looks good and is numbered to just 149. Again the numbering is good.
My last really solid pull was a Chris Paul “Supreme Court” memorabilia card numbered to 299. I had a chance to see him at an event up close and personal and besides being a great player he was a good dude so I was happy to get this card.
From top to bottom this is a solid set. I got good value and this set made me care about a base card. Can you imagine? I loved getting a card of Knicks legend, Harry Gallatin. The card is numbered to 199, the rest were #’d to 450. I didn’t realize that he was an iron man playing in 662-straight regular season games, most of them in New York. Kudos on the solid card backs as well.
This set is definitely worth the plunge, especially the Kobe “Le Cinque Piu’ Belle” cards (especially the autographs). LeBron is in it. Just sayin’.
