Throwback Thursday - George Gervin

George "The Iceman" Gervin played in both the ABA and NBA for the Virginia Squires, San Antonio Spurs, and Chicago Bulls. He averaged at least 14 points per game in all 14 his ABA and NBA seasons, and finished with an NBA career average of 26.2 points per game. Gervin is regarded as one of the greatest shooting guards in NBA history.

Gervin played internationally and was Gary Payton's favourite player growing up. He was also famously a teammate of both Dr J's and Michael Jordan's!

Nicknamed Iceman for his cool outlook on the court, Gervin's trademark shot was the finger roll. While others mimicked this style when shooting layups, Gervin was known to "finger roll" from as far as the free throw line.
