Throwback Thursday - Andrew Gaze
Andrew Gaze. A superstar of Australian basketball through the 80s and 90s. The greatest ever Australian basketball player, so good they named an award after him.
Gaze spent his Australian career with the Tigers of course but had a couple of stints in the US (trying out unsuccessfully for the Sonics) eventually winning an NBA championship as part of the Spurs squad in 98-99.
The five-time Olympian represented Australia at the 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics, carrying the flag at the Opening Ceremony in Sydney.
A true legend of Australian basketball and Cherry's Throwback Thursday player this week!
