A legend for Duke University and Coach K, Laettner is this week's Throwback Thursday player!
An NCAA Hall of fame player and inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame as part of the Dream Team, Laettner was widely hated as part of the strong Duke team of the early 90s. He was pretty, he went to a top school and the team kept winning.
But is the hate justified?
Laettner was drafted by the Timberwolves where he played for 4 years before bouncing around several other teams. His All Star selection while with the Hawks in 97' was a highlight but his pro career never lived up to his promise from college.
Let's check out some higlights (and low blows) from Laettner's career;
1. Laettner destroys Kentucky's dreams.
2. Highlights with the Dream Team in Barcelona.
3. Stomping (pretty lightly) on the opposition.
4. Running a mid-range shooting clinic with Jordan and the Wizards.
5. ESPN 30 for 30's 'I Hate Christian Laettner' is a great little film all about the hate for Laett. Definitely worth a watch.
Thanks for reading, see you next week for another Throwback!
