Throwback Thursday - Robert 'Big Shot' Horry
Robert Keith Horry Jnr, elusively known as Big Shot Rob, was born in Harford County, Maryland, August 25th 1970.
After an extremely successful basketball college career at the University of Alabama Horry was set to 'rocket' his NBA career skywards. Drafted 11th overall in 1992 by the Houston Rockets he was instantly a value to the team, playing alongside the likes of Hakeem Olajuwon.
Big Shot Rob has an amazing list of accolades next to his name, including 1 of 2 players to have won NBA championships with three different teams (Rockets, Lakers & Spurs). He's racked up 7 championships over 15 years. And a fixation with the number 25 or 5, all of which were his jersey numbers.
In 1996 he joined the Phoenix Suns, where things heated up in a towl-throwing incident with coach Danny Ainge on-court. Following a two-game ban, he was traded to the Spurs soon after.
These days Robert Horry is a commentator at SportsNet.
