You can buy an NBA team if you have a couple of billion to spare for the Houston Rockets.

Leslie Alexander bought the Houston Rockets way back July 1993 for $85 million. With Michael Jordan retired he was lucky because the Rockets immediately won 2 championships in the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. With a big Chinese following since Yao Ming signed with them, the team is valued at $1.65 billion.
