This Christmas there will be plenty of mojo under the tree for some of Australia's less fortunate children thanks to Australia's trading card community and Panini.
Four shopping trolleys filled with presents, ranging from Lightsabers to Lego, were placed under the K-Mart Wishing Tree in an
This annual campaign to raise monies for the Salvo's K-Mart Wishing Tree Appeal is the work of Grayson & Renee White who own and run Cherry Collectables, an Australian trading card website, and the two couldn't be more happy with the results.
"Seeing the trolleys fill up with amazing toys and knowing that they will light a child's eyes up this christmas is an great feeling,"
"We just can't thank our customers, supporters and of course Panini, enough for all there help," Said Renee White.
The affectionately named #2k4k set out to raise $2,000 for the kids and it has currently placed $1,583 worth of goods under the tree but hasn't finished yet according to Grayson White.
"We haven't included the hundreds of sticker albums Panini donated to us as straight gifts, plus we still have a few boxes to sell and tricks up our sleeve to get to the mark," said White confidently.
"This week we have three live web shows, where we bust boxes and I'm sure we can raise a few more dollars for the cause.
In it's second year the appeal has almost doubled the monies raised and White believes it is testimony to the collecting community.
"We just put the word out there and the response is amazing," said White.
"Panini donated a case of 2012-13 Past & Present Basketball and Ozcardtrader, Australia's premier trading card forum, donated advertising and cash to the appeal without hesitation,"
"Next year will be even bigger!," boasted White.
