Daniel Ricardo "Danny" Manning (born May 17, 1966) is Cherry's Throwback Thursday player of the week!
Manning comes from a sporting family with his father being a longtime ABA and NBA player. Manning won Bronze as part of the last ever amateur team sent to the 1988 Olympics in Seoul where he shared the team with other future NBA greats like David Robinson, Mitch Richmond and Dan Majerle.
Unfortunately, not long after being drafted by the Clippers a torn anterior cruciate ligament required him to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery and knee surgery plagued him throughout his pro career. He bounced around several teams after being traded to the Orlando Magic in 1999 along with Pat Garrity and a conditional first-round draft pick for Anfernee Hardaway.
