Panini Chronicles Basketball this year has everything but the kitchen sink. Given that many Panini brands didn’t get a full release last year, Chronicles has brought them all together, including a few new updates, in a release where collectors will delightedly find several card lines and styles in each pack.
As in the past, this series focuses on top rookies and stars in a multitude of display and card options, with hobby boxes averaging two autographs.
In line with this exceptional variety, the base set will hold many different subsets for collectors and those chasing Hobby-exclusive cards. Below the brand breakdown of what to expect in the 2020-21 Panini Chronicles Basketball smorgasbord for Rookies.
- Donruss Optic Traded
- Gala (Hobby)
- Gold Standard (Hobby)
- Limited (Hobby)
- Majestic (Hobby)
- Plates & Patches (Hobby)
- Prizm Update
- Titanium (Hobby)
Exclusive to hobby packs, some are more rare than others, with the Gala sitting as the toughest pull along with Gold Standard and Titanium as rare finds as short-prints.
As top players and key rookies are the bedrock of this release, fans will find that their autographs span a variety of brands too. First-year player choices include Hometown Heroes Rookie Autos and the rare Phoenix Rookie Autos with Cornerstones holding a signature and four pieces of memorabilia.
International NBA stars will be highlighted in the Prizm National Pride Signatures, where national flags are the backgrounds of the cards - and are touted as rare grabs too.
Fans can find autos from the top rookies of the draft including LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, and Tyrese Haliburton. And Hobby exclusives of 1-of-1 Platinum Parallels for several of the base sets.
Estimated Release Date: 17 November 2021
