Old reliable is back again with 2021 Panini Contenders Football.
This decades-old line is a favorite amongst collectors who want to know what they’re getting and 2021 Panini Contenders Football is no different. The themes and designs revolve around “Tickets” with a healthy spotlight on autos plus plenty of inserts and parallels to go around.
Each hobby box will have five autographs (one an on-card signature), one parallel and eighteen total inserts.
The base set holds 100 veterans with the ticket theme starting on this design. Parallels should include Playoff Ticket (/199), Championship Ticket (/99), Cracked Ice (/21) and Super Bowl Ticket (1/1). Expect retail configurations to throw in a few different parallels too.
The heart of the Contenders set is almost always the Rookie Ticket Autographs presenting as base Rookie Cards. Look for RPS versions too that will cover favorite rookies of the year and an on-card signature.
First-year players aren’t ignored either with potential autos from the best players who started as unknowns at season start. RPS parallels include Clear Ticket, Clear Ticket Mosaic, Ticket Stub (/99 or less), Playoff Ticket (/99 or less), Championship Ticket (/49 or less), Cracked Ice (/21 or less), and Super Bowl Ticket (1/1).
Tougher and debuting this year are the RPS Reverse Ticket.
Additional autographs for the 2021 Panini Contenders Football extend past the base Rookie Cards with a 20 year-old throwback design from the 2001 Rookie Ticket RPS featured as the backdrop for on-card signatures of the draft picks this season.
Contenders to Canton Autographs feature dual images, one of the player’s first Contenders card and another of their gold jacket Hall of Fame induction.
Expect extra autos from Legendary Coaches Ticket, Contenders Autographs, MVP Contenders Autographs, NFL Ink, and Sunday Ticket Signatures.
Supernatural and Gladiators can be found as standard inserts along with Chain Movers and Power Players.
