Last released in 2005, it’s been a long wait for the 2022 Topps Pristine Baseball.
A happily returning reboot for MLB collectors, the 2022 Topps Pristine Baseball won’t disappoint with a familiar approach and a pack-within-a-pack (within-a-pack) setup that is expected with this line. Chrome designs make a statement as do encased hits and plenty of parallels and autos (three per hobby box) to chase.
Fans should expect each pack to have either one encased auto OR one encase base Pristine parallel plus two base parallels. Alternatively, each pack can have one autograph relic and seven base cards. Ten Refractors and five inserts make up each box. Let’s explore the base and hits below.
The 2022 Topps Pristine Baseball is a 300-card base set featuring past and present MLB stars. Standard parallels are to include Refractors, Purple Refractors (/99), Gold Refractors (/50), Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5), Superfractors (1/1). Pristine Refractors come encased and you should find four per hobby box. Pristine Refractor colors include Blue, Gold, Orange, Red, and Black.
Inserts account for a further five cards per box with Pristine Borders (best 20 players), Fresh Faces (multi-image card of young talent), and Pure Power (home run hitters).
Moving onto the Autographs, there’s guarantee of two on-card autos per box in the 2022 Topps Pristine Baseball lineup. Collectors should be on the lookout for five different signed sets and paired Refractor parallels.
Inclusions here are the encased Pristine Autographs and Pristine Pair Dual Autographs as well as Fresh Faces Autographs, Popular Demand Autographs and Pure Power Autographs.
These last three all can expect Gold Refractors (/50), Orange Refractors (/25) and Black Refractors (1/1) with the ‘Popular Demand’ set also grabbing Red Refractor (/5) options.
