This years Panini Recon Basketball release is new - well, sort of. Last year in the 2019-20 Chronicles, we saw a little preview of what you’ll find in this now full release, which is a first for the line.
In the substantive checklist for 2020-21 Panini Recon Basketball, collectors will find Recon base cards along with a healthy amount of chase cards, as every hobby pack will average one insert and one parallel, as well as two autos. The set size is still unknown, but below we provide a short summary of what collectors are due to find in this Recon Basketball release.
Fresh and modern designs will be found in the base set, which is set to be a mix of veterans and rookies. Parallels to look out for include - Holo, Holo Spiral, Holo Pink, Holo Bronze, Holo Red (/199), Holo Blue (/99), Holo Purple (/49), Holo Gold (/10), Holo Green (/5), and Holo Platinum (1/1).
The autographs for this years Recon Basketball cards will show up in a few varied designs, featuring past, present and future players - allowing fans to grab autos from top NBA rookies, veterans and legends alike with each box containing 2 autographs.
Rookie Recon and Recon Signature cards boast a shared style and mockup, while some serious color will be found in the True Potential Signatures. But the loudest designs will shine in the Recon inserts. From Maneuvers, Rookie Review, Future Legends, Rock the Rim, Scouting Reports, and Eyes on the Prize. And the Sky’s the Limit inserts will throwback to the late 90s flair of the EX brand with a cloudy backdrop.
The expected release date is 27 October 2021 and we’ll update this article in the week leading up to the actual release as more information becomes available.
