When you unwrap a fresh pack of Pokemon 151 trading cards, isn't it instinctive to quickly scan past the Common and Uncommon cards? The heart races a bit faster when the eyes catch the glittering sheen of a high-rarity card. Sadly, the majority of cards in these packs are often discarded or set aside, eclipsed by the allure of the ultra-rare.

Now, imagine a pack devoid of Commons and Uncommons. Picture a pack brimming only with high-rarity cards. You're envisioning the legendary Pokemon 151 "God Pack."

From the first time a trading card pack was torn open, enthusiasts dreamed of stumbling upon a "miracle pack" — one that replaced all standard cards with the crème de la crème. While many of us recall stories of someone who supposedly had inside contacts at big gaming companies, these so-called God Packs seemed more like childhood folklore. Tales of such God packs dominated card game aisles at stores like Toys"R"Us and Walmart, fueling our enthusiasm and hopes.

The term "God Pack" officially entered the card game lexicon in 2014, thanks to Magic: The Gathering's Journey into Nyx. During its prerelease, whispers emerged of players unearthing packs that contained each Mythic Rare God from the preceding series. Suddenly, a set that many considered tepid became a hot commodity, with fans eagerly buying bundles, hoping to uncover these legendary God Packs.

Post that phenomenon, game publishers globally sought innovative means to amplify the thrill of unveiling new cards. The concept of God Packs dimmed for a while until 2019. That year, renowned Pokémon YouTubers discovered Pokemon packs filled to the brim with Ultra Rares, particularly from the Tag All-Stars series.

Since then, several Japanese Pokémon sets have included these God Packs. Yet, it wasn't until Pokémon 151's release that the global audience truly got a taste. With the intoxicating mix of nostalgia inherent in the Scarlet & Violet—151 series, the buzz around opening packs has been rejuvenated. The sheer possibility with your Pokemon 151 cards of uncovering an Illustration Rare card set of the likes of Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard has fans in an ecstatic tizzy.

So, does the introduction of God Packs diminish the value of Ultra Rares in the Pokémon 151 series? Or will it hike the price of unopened Pokemon 151 products? As Pokémon 151's launch looms just a week away, we're all eagerly waiting to see if this series soars to new heights or flops majestically. Only time will tell.
