Rumored release of the Pokemon Battle Legion finally sets a date.
After word got out that two new trademarks were filed by Pokemon, fans have been eagerly awaiting what is now confirmed as the TCG set Battle Legion (バトルリージョン) releasing 25th February 2022.

This special set, along with more VSTAR Pokemon to release at the same time, will be a “Sword & Shield Strengthening Expansion Pack” set, labeled S9a, and solidifying further rumors that the Sword & Shield theme would continue through 2022.
The Pokemon Battle Legion booster packs are expected to contain 20 packs versus the standard 30, and yet are set to cost over 50% more than usual.

Not too dissimilar then to Legendary Heartbeat, another special subset which was released in July 2020, where packs where more expensive and the booster boxes only had 20 packs. If we then follow along the same logic here, we might expect Pokemon Battle Legion to contain the same (or similar) number of cards, which is 7 cards per pack instead of the standard 5, as well as a guaranteed halo. This might be the reasoning behind the increased price tag on the Battle Legion release.
Amazing Rares were a new card set in Legendary Heartbeat and fans are hoping the theme follows through and the Battle Legion will have the same. One thing is for sure in that these special subsets always have something different and standout to get excited about and collect.

Many ideas on forums abound on the other details including what will be featured on the booster packs, but Poke Beach expects promotion of either Sinnoh or Hissui.
Coinciding with this awaited Battle Legion unveiling is the release of a “Sword & Shield Starter Set Lucario VSTAR” and “Sword & Shield Starter Set Darkrai VSTAR.” Both are expected to contain 60-card decks with features form Lucario V and Lucario VSTAR or Darkrai V and Darkrai VSTAR. Coin and damage counters come standard.
Just prior to the larger release on the 25th, earlier in the month fans can grab a “Special Card Set (Grass) Leafeon VSTAR” and “Special Card Set (Ice) Glaceon VSTAR” release, where Leafeon V and Leafeon VSTAR or Glaceon V and Glaceon VSTAR will be found.
It looks like February 2022 is shaping up to be a big month for Pokemon and the TCG fans - Stay tuned as more information is released on The Pokemon Battle Legion.
