Alternate Art

In Pokemon, regular artwork typically shows a Pokemon in a generic 3D pose with not much else; however, the alternate art Pokemon card brings the world around it to life. You get scenes of Pokémon interacting with people, the environment, or each other. An example is the Machamp V (alternate art)—showing a Machamp living in harmony with humans and helping them carry fruit baskets. Another fan favourite is the Umbreon VMAX from Evolving Skies known as "Moonbreon", reaching for the moon with its paw. The artwork is loosely based on "Starry Night" by Van Gogh!
